York Regional Police have charged a Toronto real estate lawyer with fraud and are appealing for other potential victims to come forward.
Investigators with the financial crimes unit say 81-year-old Ping-Teng Tan failed to return over $500,000 to his client, the victim, following a business transaction in December 2023.
Ping-Teng Tan, of Toronto, has been charged with Fraud Over $5,000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000.
Investigators are releasing Tan’s photograph as they believe there may be additional victims due to his position as a real estate lawyer.
