Brightstone Fills Missing Middle in Downtown Mississauga

Brightstone has just announced it is launching OG Urban Towns, a 101-stacked townhouse development in downtown Mississauga—one of the GTA’s fastest changing neighbourhoods.

OG Urban Towns has already garnered substantial attention, not merely because it’s one of the few launches of its kind in the region this fall, but because it’s filling a demand in the market that’s long been overlooked. Prices for the homes start in the $500’s.

“Missing middle”, or gentle-density, housing has long been touted as a counterbalance to the high-rise residential boom that’s changed the GTA’s complexion over the last 15 years.

“OG Urban Towns is nestled in a residential neighbourhood, and seamlessly so in both its design and location in the area at 2532 Argyle Road. It’s the exact kind of home in the right kind of neighbourhood that young families in search of the perfect nest have been looking for, but have had difficulty finding because there simply hasn’t been enough of them built,” said Yoav Bohbot, Vice-President of Brightstone.

The layouts are subtly flexible in function and exude all the confidence of a boutique experience. That’s because OG Urban Towns, much like missing middle housing, is an ideal environment for singles, young couples looking for their first home and those who are tired of transient condo lifestyles and who want to put long-term roots down in a community.

“There’s a healthy mix of one, two and three-bedroom homes that feature a timeless, yet modern, design. But, as the name suggests, we use bright, open layouts with large windows that fill the interiors with abundant natural light,” Bohbot said. “Brighter home, brighter life.”

The homes also use SmartHome technology, including video doorbells, door locks, thermostats, light switches and more.

The exteriors of the homes cleverly blend classic architecture with contemporary styling and include garden patios, private patios and spacious outdoor terraces—some of which are up to 660 sq. ft—while the expansive interiors run from 555 sq. ft. up to 1,500 sq. ft. and are replete with high-quality finishes, like natural oak handrails with modern metal pickets, contemporary 5 ½” wide baseboards, and maintenance free energy efficient white vinyl windows.

Kitchens are dressed with elegant laminate countertops, contemporary cabinetry and equipped with Moen single-lever faucets. Bathrooms feature ceramic wall tiles in the shower and bathtub enclosures, single lever washerless Moen faucets in all vanities, and porcelain floor and wall tiles. From the plush carpeted stairs to the ceramic flooring in the laundry rooms, homes at OG are built with best-in-class materials, finishes and fixtures that ensure as much durability and timelessness tomorrow as today.

Lifestyle, too, is what sets OG Urban Towns apart from its competition.

“A major reason OG’s site was chosen is that it is minutes from Highway 403, which quickly connects to the 401, 404, 410, and 427, the north and the Queen Elizabeth Expressway to the south,” Bohbot said. “There is also a dedicated LRT two blocks from OG’s site on Hurontario that will connect Bramalea to Lake Ontario, as well as to the Cooksville and Port Credit GO Stations, which run trains to Toronto’s Union Station twice on the hour. Square One Shopping Centre is also minutes away, and Pearson International Airport is another 25 minutes from OG.”

The area is an important employment hub with a thriving tech sector several blocks north, pharma and Trillium Hospital around the corner from OG Urban Towns.

“Trillium is expanding by 600,000 sq. ft. and is expected to create 2,400 new jobs,” Bohbot said. “Downtown Mississauga is one of the GTA’s hottest neighbourhoods.”

Brightstone was founded in 2016 with a vision to elevate daily living by identifying key residential infill or “missing middle” locations where they craft thoughtfully designed communities that enhance residents’ lives and complement the area. Each development is conveniently situated close to schools, parks, shops and services, as well as transportation options – all important facets in day-to-day life.
