The ideal real estate agent by REVEL Realty

Time and time again, real estate agents have endured the stigma of blame when a deal fails to transact, or when market trends dramatically dip, or surprisingly rise.  If home prices are too high, real estate agents are accused of manipulating listings for the purpose of inflating values. If home prices fall, real estate agents are targeted for not providing enough services to validate an honest effort.  Despite these challenging stereotypes, real estate agents remain on the front lines, braving economic storms and trudging through these public misconceptions in order to serve their clients in the most professional manner possible.

At REVEL, we value the development of a real estate sales representative. Like most professions, development is the result of sound education and mitigating the trial and error scenarios that our agents encounter on the journey to achieving consistent sales from year to year.  The ideal real estate agent, however, is not the product of a formulaic equation.  And because each sales representative is an independent contractor, each real estate agent offers a unique, and signature style to a profession that is becoming more diverse in its service offerings.

First and foremost, the vision of an ideal real estate agent hinges on a passion for helping people.  Our real estate agents at REVEL are immediately apprised of the importance of this responsibility, since it is imperative that the ethics associated with the transacting of properties is adhered to at every junction of a deal.  However, in order to eventually REVELutionize the profession, one agent at a time, REVEL insists upon a collaborative and team first approach.

REVEL is insistent upon collaboration with colleagues and co-operating brokerage colleagues as the backbone of good business.  In order to impart this principle, all REVEL ED programs are geared towards encouraging team oriented systems that support informed decision making while creating consistent professional instincts.

To work as a ‘team’ implies much more than membership to a group of individuals achieving the same goal.  To become a valuable team member or contributor requires a commitment to elevating the level of service offered to a client.  Whether it be executing sound paperwork, instilling protocols for showings, or conducting business with high professional standards, a real estate agent should be well aware that completing a deal has consequences beyond a final closing.

At REVEL, completing a deal raises the expectation for the next, subsequent transaction.  In turn, an analysis of the manner in which that deal was executed provides the impetus for the improvement of service, and a platform to further REVELutionize and improve upon the standards already in place.  We believe that the ideal agent should find personal accountability in every transaction, and respect the process as much as the commission attached to it.  By appreciating the process, a REVEL agent builds confidence from transaction to transaction knowing full well that a support and mentorship program, combined with a robust education system, will continue to address customized concerns along the journey.

The ideal agent, according to REVEL, also emerges from a solid foundation of trust and reputation.  By insisting that our agents become ‘leaders’ in their field, the brokerage itself expresses its sincere belief in its agents. Promotions within the brokerage, and by entrusting real estate agents with opportunities for growth and leadership, REVEL understands that comprehending leadership is a step forward to REVELutionizing career paths.

Finally, the ideal agent is creative and passionate about real estate.  But how do you teach creativity and passion?  At REVEL, creativity is inspired by generous mentors and award-winning entrepreneurs who exhibit creativity, passion and consistency at every turn.  Our shared experiences are funnelled into a culture that encourages originality, authenticity and an ambition to improve at every step moving forward.

At REVEL, we take pride in the development of the ideal agent, understanding that it isn’t a measure of perfection, but rather one of personal and professional growth.  The ideal agent is one who wakes every day with the goal to improve the lifestyle pursuits of their clients, and in turn, benefit from the opportunity to make a difference in a profession we never take for granted.
