One of Edmonton’s top-performing teams, Muve, has joined eXp Realty, becoming the first in Canada to do so under a co-sponsorship model.
Formerly with Re/Max Elite, the 46-agent team, led by John Rota, closed over $303-million in sales across 686 ends in 2024, according to eXp.
The team has now partnered with two eXp’s Canadian heavyweights, James Knull and Justin Havre. Knull will serve as the primary sponsor, with Havre as co-sponsor, marking a first-of-its-kind arrangement for eXp in Canada, the company says.
A milestone move for Muve
“I’ve been intrigued by eXp’s model for over six years,” says Rota in a statement. “From its borderless brokerage concept to the training and collaboration, the timing was finally right—not just for me, but for our entire organization.”
The team has gained a reputation in Edmonton for high-touch service and innovative practices. One key differentiator is the team’s “robust cash offer program,” which gives sellers greater flexibility and control — a standout in the competitive Edmonton market.
With the shift to eXp, Rota says the team is well-positioned to grow its reach while maintaining its core values. “This isn’t just a brokerage switch — it’s a milestone moment for our team and a launch into the future.”

The co-sponsorship model, which allows top producers to mentor and support new teams through a shared leadership structure, is viewed by eXp as a key driver of national growth. For Rota, it also reflects the collaborative culture that attracted him to the brokerage.
